The local government also sent police and order forces to ensure security at the market.
According to Mr. Quang, 13 years ago, when Nghia Hung commune market was established, this sycamore tree was planted in the yard in front of the market to create shade. A few days ago, a woman while selling goods at the market took her phone and filmed the stump of a sycamore tree, saw an image that looked like Jesus' face on the stump, and then posted it on social networks. Many curious people flocked to see.
"This is a normal tree. It's just everyone's perception. Some people come and don't see anything. Some people see a spiritual image so they hold a ceremony," Mr. Quang shared.
According to a report from the People's Committee of Nghia Hung commune, because they were afraid that trees would fall during the stormy season and endanger small businesses, on August 20, the market management board sawed down the tree canopy.
