The horrific incident happened in Costa Rica when a player was swimming in the river when he was eaten by a crocodile.
Shocking images show the victim's body being clamped in the jaw by a crocodile. The police had to shoot the crocodile with a gun before bringing the body ashore.

Jesus Alberto Lopez Ortiz, nicknamed "Chucho", is a Costa Rican amateur footballer. The 29-year-old was attacked by an alligator while bathing in a river at Rio Canas in the province of Guanacaste, northwest of Costa Rica.
Locals followed the crocodile in canoes, before the local police shot down the ferocious reptile.
Lopez currently plays for amateur team Deportivo Rio Canas. The 29-year-old has two children aged 8 and 3. Lopez's family situation is very difficult, the family cannot afford to hold a funeral for the ill player. Coach Luis Carlos Montes of Deportivo Rio Canas has called for donations to support the victim's family.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of player Jesus Lopez Ortiz, a devout follower of God. Rest in peace, Chucho. We share the pain with the family," the Deportivo Rio Canas side released a statement of condolences on Facebook.
In the comments section, one fan wrote: "He is a very humble person with talented feet. Just last night, we saw his last game. We will miss you, Chucho, a talented No. 10.”
In Costa Rica, the hunting and killing of wild animals including crocodiles is prohibited. But local police said they were following the law by "rescuing the victim's body from the reptilian jaws" by shooting down the crocodile.
